This week, Film Jams presents a behind-the-scenes look at our Halloween short film, “The Witch.” With a tight schedule and set to premiere before Halloween, we filmed it all in one long night. So with further ado, let’s go behind-the-scenes of our Halloween short film!
If you’d like to see the original film, check it out below!

While Film Jams is Film Jamming, we also get to pursue some of our original film projects as well. Our team tries to implement the tips and tricks we teach into our films. This is the third short film that was made for Film Jams, our first being our July 4th video, and our second being our Award-Winning 48 Hour Film Project “Love Hurts.”
Check out “Love Hurts” below (Winner of Best Film and Best Cinematography at the Tampa 48 Hour Film Project)!

Our Halloween Short Film Behind the Scenes

The Film Jams team created “The Witch” for the sake of Halloween and spookiness, and to try out some of our favorite gear. We used an ARRI Skypanel S60, and we got to put our new Jo-Leko to the test (see if you can spot where it was used in the film). As we go behind-the-scenes, take a look at how our team created some of the props for the film, the creation of the witch’s lair in our studio, and the cool makeup FX that our actor and makeup artist Nicole Stefanic created. We also have some BTS video rehearsals from our amazing witch and star of the production, Brielle Carter.

As an independent studio our short film gives you an idea of a short film production on a relatively low budget. Our team always enjoys filming on ARRI cameras, and we were able to film on our ARRI Alexa Mini for this one, as it was back in time from a rental.
